Our forensic building investigation work determines the causes of building defects and failures.  We have particular expertise in the following areas;

• Determining the age of dry rot infestation in buildings
• Mapping out moisture sources, reservoirs and sinks in buildings and determining the age of water ingress
• The pathology of buildings to determine failures and causes
• Indoor air quality and its impact on the health of occupants
• Evaluating live, dead and hidden toxic mould spores, toxins and determining the age of the infestation
• Assessing the activity of fungal infestations in buildings
• Assessing the activity of wood boring beetles,  insect and Pest  infestations in buildings
• Determining chemical timber treatment residues and health implications

EBS Ltd carries out forensic building investigations using practical experience gained over 25 years, combined with a range of non-destructive investigations backed up by laboratory analysis.  

Initially we carry out a visual inspection.  We use non-destructive instrumentation and specialist technologies.  These are backed up with extensive laboratory studies (mainly in house), to determine the age, type, extent and causes of water damage, leaks, damp and infestation.  

After completing these investigations we prepare a detailed technical report for our clients.
