| Ventilation and Infiltration Testing |
The adequate supply of fresh outdoor air suitable for the comfort of the occupants is an important aspect of the built environment. Ventilation is defined as the transport of air into, through and out of a building. Ventilation is an important parameter in indoor air quality, energy wastage and the control of the internal environment. Excessive ventilation can place large burdens on buildings heating systems and encourage energy wastage and cause unacceptable internal environmental conditions. Insufficient ventilation can cause problems relating to decay, mould growth and other indoor air quality issues. EBS can undertake a variety of ventilation & infiltration tests in buildings. The tests can be used to investigate air change rates and airtightness. EBS use techniques suggested by the Air Infiltration and Ventilation centre (AIVC). |
